trivia from the 8 o'clock news

After a long entry about nothing, it's only fair to write a short entry about something.

Did you know that if Walmart were a country, it would be the 8th largest importer of goods from China?

Wal-Mart as a country -- what a scary thought. Tourists would no doubt be plentiful, as they reveled in all the fine fashion and exquisite cuisine to be discovered there...

I'm not surprised. Large corporations are turning into multinational entities that are larger than many governments/countries.

Two more pieces of trivia, while I'm on a roll:

I remember from the Arnold election hearing that if California was a country, it would have the 5th largest economy worldwide.

And, Kroger is the second largest importer of cheese in the US. (Don't bother asking, I don't know the first.)
