This is my last week on the East Coast (until just after Christmas). I don't think that I mentioned here that I've decided to drive cross-country to Tucson. This is perhaps the stupidest decision ever, but that remains to be seen.
You see, it was my original plan. Samy and I (or just me, if it turned out that way) would drive across and take the car filled with the things that we have to move from here. Then, reality struck and it occurred to us that perhaps that wouldn't be the easiest thing for a woman who is 6 1/2 mos pregnant. At that time, 6 1/2 mos sounded like a WHOLE LOT. So we were going to ship the car and the stuff, and I was going to fly to AZ.
As the time has gotten closer and closer though, I've realized that there has yet to be anything that I've wanted to do and couldn't because I was pregnant. In fact, there are still moments where I FORGET that I'm pregnant...because I'm not even remotely uncomfortable, and if The Bean is sleeping then I don't really feel any different at all.
So now we're in the home stretch of me feeling like driving, and I'm still feeling like it's going to be alright. My sister will drive with me to Dallas, where my dad will meet me. Wendy will fly home from Dallas and Dad and I will drive the rest of the way to Tucson. I'm leaving on Friday the 5th and plan to arrive sometime on the 9th. That should be totally reasonable...but I'll let you know when I get there whether it was, indeed, a wise choice.
I didn't update for long enough that I didn't mention that Mandy and Rumple were in town for GW3 (the annual Girls' Weekend). Manicures and pedicures, as well as a night on the town in Atlantic City were very fun. We better-than-doubled our money (paid for parking and tolls!)...with Mandy being Lady Luck this year. Rumple was charmed last year, so I'm hopeful that GW4: Vegas will be my big weekend.
PLUS, Mandy and Rumple (along with my mom) threw me a lovely shower, and lots of cute things arrived. Two of my mother's friends threw me a shower the week before, and let me tell you that between these two events, The Bean will be WELL-DRESSED.
I'll be washing cloth diapers every day, but I won't have to wash clothes for TWO MONTHS.
In other Bean news, she kept me awake for several hours each night last week. She's always been an active little bugger, but now I think she's moving furniture in there or something.
