On Thursday, I bought the great mother-load (literally!) of baby loot. Nesting instinct? No. This shopping rampage was inspired by the fact that a big book of coupons arrived in the mail from BabiesRUs. When given the opportunity to save some money, I sprang into action.
I already had a crib and changing table, compliments of the family that I worked for in Paris. I had a diaper bag and baby bjorn carrier that I got on the cheap at an anglophone baby sale-type thing in Paris. My mom bargain-bought a bassinet, jumper for the door frame, backpack baby carrier. (The last two are for quite a few months down the line, but whatever.)
Then, about two weeks ago I bought a glider and a travel system (stroller and infant carrier/carseat). Bit by bit.
Thursday, I got the convertible carseat (for later), crib bedding, bouncer, changing table pad, and all of that required "little stuff" (ex. thermometer, monitor). Also on Thursday, I ordered the rest of our stock of cloth diapers. (Did I ever mention here that we're doing cloth diapers? Well we are.)
Then yesterday, I actually opened the boxes of shower gifts that I had shipped from Jersey. There's no stopping me now.
