...and finally turned on the air conditioning. I am really patting our family on our collective back for having waited this long. I guess I'm congratulating the guests we've had in the past few weeks also...because it has been on the border line of being too hot a few times. (Mostly in the evening when it's the hottest from the day and the cool night air hasn't yet cooled down the house.)
Anyway it's on.
Since I'm posting, I may as well give a little Claire update. She is adorable.
Well, you already knew that...
She started army crawling all over the place a couple of weeks ago, and there's just no stopping her. Our house isn't nearly baby-proofed enough, which means that for the moment, I'm mostly following her around everywhere unless she's in the park. (Of course, this is also convenient for her because she doesn't seem to ever want to be more than about ten feet away from me at any given moment--unless she's asleep and doesn't know any better.)
She is eating very well! She eats: avocado, sweet potato, rice, acorn squash, oatmeal, bananas, and the current food: YOGURT! I got a yogurt maker and am just thrilled as pie that she seems to enjoy eating the yogurt that I've made. The book I am following to make her (super baby) food recommends eventually feeding her a porridge-based meal in the morning and a yogurt-based meal in the afternoon, so having her like both of those things is reassuring! She's also pudging up nicely--probably from the great avocado fats she's eating everyday...!
We stay very very busy. In fact, the last two days I've been feeling pretty lousy, so we've stayed home much more than usual...only leaving for a few hours to do errands. And it feels WEIRD to be in the house for so long!
But at least it's cool.
