hurrah

I realized the other day that here I am halfway around the world, and I didn't even mention here that I was going...this blog is so neglected.

We left the desert on the day Claire turned 7 months old. She promptly began to crawl up on her knees...and cut two more teeth, just to spite us. We spent a week in Virginia before hopping over here to France. We were all three in the center of France for a week, and Claire and I are now in Paris until Monday, playing a surprise bell piece for the conductor at ACP...well, I'm playing the bell piece. Claire is just along for the ride.

She's doing great. She's been difficult at times (tooth #6 came in since we've been in France, and there have a couple of other unexplainable fussy times)...but mostly she has slept OK and been a fun, cute kid. She's been eating alright, and I've continued to make all of her food, which has been an unexpected perk.

Just in the last week, Claire started clapping her hands. This (to me) seems like the coolest milestone since the smile. She's communicating!
