It's been so long! I have been home for about a week and a half, and realized at that time that I'd only been home for two weeks since Claire was 7 months old!
We got home and are now pretty much back into our routine of running around and generally having a good old time! We've also been working on Claire's sleep... We made a pact to NOT bring her into our bed in the morning (which is a favorite thing for ALL THREE of us)...and at the same time I stopped nursing her at night. She's done pretty well, and I am optimistic that she will stop her night-waking by the time we leave again. Truthfully, the ideal for me is if she wakes only once at 5 or so...as she did from the age of 6wks to 4mos. Like a little alarm clock, it gave me the option of "hey, I could get up now" or "gotta go back to bed" and I sometimes even accomplished things. (Imagine that!)
I am a big wimp about letting her cry alone ('cause if it's anything like what she occasionally pulls in the car, we'd both have heart failure after about 15 minutes), so we've been using the Baby Whisperer book...which I love. It's work, though!
The other major accomplishment 'chez nous' is that we cleaned our house over the weekend. Having people over for dinner is something that we did very very often in Paris, and not nearly often enough since we've lived here. It got our bodies in gear to clean like crazy. Claire even participated by taking a 2 hour nap in her crib! We hung pictures (after living here for only one year)--imagine that!
This is a very disjointed post, but at least it's a post. Maybe it will help me remember how to write.
