Claire had the stomach bug yesterday. How miserable! She had woken up in the middle of the night with a fever, which I attributed to teething...(she is getting her molars, after all). She woke up happy, and I decided we would go to the mall. Claire and I both get stir-crazy if we stay in the house...plus she loves to play at the play area there. So we spend many a day going for a little walk at the mall...followed by a movie for mom when Claire needs a little nap (she sleeps in the sling)...followed by lunch and play. Anyway, Samy was out of town so it seemed the perfect day to do such a thing.
It started out fine--she played nicely with her cell phone as I talked on mine walking around in the mall. I had decided I'd like to see the movie "Accepted," which started at 11. We went into the movie and she fell asleep almost immediately. About twenty minutes into the film, she woke up to vomit all over both of us!
Naturally, I wanted to get home as soon as humanly possible! She was sick several more times as I was trying to get to the car...and once I got there, I drove about 75mph back to the house. Her little face was grey and her body was limp. Poor thing.
She took a nap...a little over an hour. And when she woke up, she was FINE. She still had some fever on and off...but to tell you the truth, she was herself...even cuter than normal, if that's possible. She played peekaboo by hiding in her tent and then popping out her head when I said "Where's Claire?"...she did this about 87 times and then she went to bed.
And this morning, and all day, she's been totally normal non-sick Claire. Of course, we're both bored out of our minds because we're on a self-imposed quarantine from her friends for the rest of the week. (Did you know that the 24-hour bug is contagious from the moment you have symptoms until AT LEAST three days after you no longer have symptoms?!)
OK, we're finally leaving the house today...to go to Costco and get gas. We're living on the edge.
